The Department of Psychology, established within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University, is among the departments approved by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) to accept students at the undergraduate level as of the 2020-2021 academic year. There are 4 assistant professors and 3 research assistants in the staff of the department. The Department of Psychology icludes the divisions of Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology and Psychometry. The language of instruction is Turkish. It is a very comprehensive program that includes various subfields of psychology such as clinical psychology, social psychology, developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, cognitive neuroscience, industrial organizational psychology, and applied (forensic, health, traffic, education) psychology. Accordingly, there are both theoretical and applied courses either must or elective. It is aimed that after completing the undergraduate degrees, students will become qualified psychologists who have professional ethics and values, who are researching and developing critical thinking, who can perform preventions and interventions for the mental health of the society with their expertise, who can discover the career goals appropriate to their own characteristics by recognizing the subfields of psychology, and who contribute to science at national and international level.
